In your essay your main objective is to compare and contrast Abolition “then” – meaning the work to end Slavery in the United States with Abolition “now” the ongoing work to address violence against black people.

For Abolition THEN we are focusing on the Grimké sisters and for Abolition NOW we are focusing on the Black Lives Matter movement founded by Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi
